Teaching Experience
  1. Give name and location of school, subjects and grade levels taught, and dates.

  2. List any honors, awards, or recognitions that you have received.

  3. List any professional affiliations, educational conferences you have attended or in which you participated, and any presentations you have made.

  4. Explain why you would like to participate in the Summer Institute and what you feel you can contriute to the Institute. Discuss how you teach and what you see as the place of writing in the curriculum.

  5. Briefly describe an assignment or an approach that has been successful for you and your students. Please explain your thinking about the approach of assignment, why you think it works, how you evaluate it, and any issues or dilemmas it raises for you and your students.

  6. The CAWP has a commitment to excellence in education that is framed by social justice and celebration of diversity. Briefly describe an assignment or approach to writing you have used in your class that addresses these issues. Alternatively, briefly describe how you might envision writing being connected with social justice and diversity.

  7. Briefly describe how, if at all, you used technology (e.g., computer software, websites, etc.) in your approach to the assignments you described in #7 and #8. Also comment on what you would like to learn about the use of technology for teaching writing or other areas of instruction.
