Columbus City Schools Poetry Slam

The Columbus City School poetry slam began four years ago with a single evening event. This year we are trying to get full participation from all of the district’s high schools. The preliminary, a day-long competition where  schools compete for one of the eight team spots in the finals will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 9am-3pm at Centennial High School (last year’s winners). The finals will be on Saturday, april 28, 2012 from 6pm-9pm at East High School. If you would like to come to either day, please do and please bring some students with you. The preliminaries are free and the finals tickets are usually only a dollar or two.

Planning for next year we are hoping to expand the slam to all interested high schools in central Ohio-both private and public. Again, if you are interested in either setting up a slam at your school or joining the central Ohio slam, please contact me.
